Survey Results |

As part of our research, we have conducted a survey. The participants of this survey are mainly students with a few adults. From our survey, it can be seen that most people are aware of the environmental problems faced nowadays. However, they do not seem to share a common source from which information about the environment can be obtained, leading to many of them not having full knowledge about the environment but only bits and pieces about a particular issue. However, our participants feel overall that not enough effort is being put into the conservation of the environment and the awareness of people as a whole. |

The survey also shows that there are many mixed reactions with regard to issues such as recycling, renewable energy sources and effectiveness of government campaigns as a whole. They also commented that there are not enough incentives to have a large impact on the effort to save the environment. Various reasons were cited, ranging from the fact that people do not know of any recycling points near their house to the fact that it is too troublesome to bring their recyclables to the various points around the island. Overall, the survey shows that teens and young adults nowadays are getting more environmentally aware as compared to the past and that schools are starting to get engaged with educating their students about the environment.
