The first use of the word "Television" was used in Paris at the 1900 world fair. In 1876, George Carey had ideas about televisions. In 1877, he made drawings for something he called "A Selenium Camera." From then to 1900, many other projects were attempted to make a " photo phone" where a television would be on the phone and you could see each other on the phone. World War II started in 1941 and Americans postponed television until 1945, when the war ended. In 1945, fewer than 10,000 television sets were in the country.
