Roy Andrews An American fossil hunter that lead four expeditions to the Gobi Desert. One expedition found the first dinosaur eggs. Marry Anning An old British fossil hunter who started looking for fossils as a child. Supported her family that way. Found the first Pterodactyl fossil. Robet Thomas Bakker Bob Bakker was born in Bergen county, New Jersey on March 25, 1945. He wears a ponytail, a full beard, and a cowboy hat. Bob has a theory that all dinosaurs are warm-blooded, and has made himself known for it. He studied at Yale University under John Ostrom, and then earned his PhD at Harvard. Bakker wrote several books, some of which are: Raptor Red, The Dinosaur Heresies: new theories unlocking the mystery of dinosaurs and their extinction, Dinosaur heresies new theories unlocking, Maximum Triceratops, Biography - Bakker, Robert T. (1946-): An article from: Contemporary Authors, Dinosaurs!, Dactyls! Dragons of the Air, Raptor Pack, and Prehistoric Monsters. John “Jack” R. Horner Jack was born in Shelby, Montana on June 15, 1946. Jack was one of the most famous paleontologists un the United States. Horner suffered from dyslexia and therefore got mostly C’s B’s and quite a few F’s while in school. Also as a result of his dyslexia, he never got a college degree but in 1986 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Science from the University of Montana. Jack was 8 when he discovered his first dinosaur fossil and I think that’s why he is so good at it, he got started at an early age. He did many amazing things to contribute to our knowledge of dinosaurs, such as, discovering the Maiasaura. The Maiasaura’s name means “good mother lizard” and lived in colonies, this particular dinosaur cared for its young and when it went to find food for its young, it went away from the nest and brought it back for them to eat. Another thing that he discovered, was the Orodromedus who’s name means “mountain runner”. Jack discovered the first nests of eggs in the Western Hemisphere. These eggs belonged to maiasaura and were the first solid evidence that mother dinosaurs cared for their babies.
