Technetium is a short lived radioactive transition metal. It was discovered in 1937. Technetium has 22 isotopes total. The atomic mass of the isotopes ranges 90 to 111 AMU. All of the isotopes are radioactive.
Until 1960, technetium cost as high as 2800 dollars per gram. In the year 1962 technetium was isolated and identified in African pitchblende.

As you can see, technetium is a silvery white metal.
Technetium was the first man made element.
