Japan along with most southwest countries in Asia stil keep up the death penalty. The countries has secretive policies. The convited( usually of crimes in combination or realted to extreme murder, rape, robbery) are taken to a detetntion center to one of the seven cities with a high court: Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima and Fukuoka. Death row prisoners live worse the then normal prison inmate. In the rules of exectution the prisoners are to be exectuted after 6 months from a failed appeal. THis doesn't include retrials so usual it take 5-7 years for an excution. Around 80% of the Japanese population support the punishment.The executions are taken in the form of hanging.
