Crusifixition was a method used generally in the Middle East but it is commonly known as being used by Romans. It is beleived that they received this method form the people of Carthage. The style of death was usually reserved for crimminal slaves, rebels, or threating opposition. In those days they typically used the Latin Cross, which had the shape of a T, for the condemed. It is believed Jeses, the son of God in Catholisiscm was also most like killed by this cross. The victims would usually be forced to carry their cross the designated death spot and to quicken the death process they might sometimes break the crimminals knees. The total concept of executing by cross was destroyed by Emperor Constantine when the Empire turned Catholic.
