Team Diversity

The team members are from different cultures, religions, and socio-economic backgrounds; all these ingredients helped to enrich the conception and design of the website content. Ngoc, an honours student in mathematics in Australia with a Vietnamese background, focused on the way mathematicians think and muse over various problems. Viet Anh, a Vietnamese student, in his second year in Robotics at MIT, USA, has a good grasp on how mathematics is implemented in artificial intelligence and inspired the team with the unique scene on the Artificial Intelligence in Medicine. Son, a student in New York with a Vietnamese background, collaborated with Viet Anh to design the animations and infuse life into them. Their collaboration was fruitful since they learnt from each other. Though Son has not yet embarked on a university career his input on high school students' interests and preferences were resourceful and insightful to a greater extent which helped laying aside all misconceptions.

The diversity of the team, who are from Australia, India, Vietnam, and the USA helped to deal with issues in different lights at the beginning, to cement progressively their points of view and reach a compromise. Coaches, who have a diverse background, from Tunisia and England, helped to maintain a high level of cultural and communicative link between team members. Coaches for this team include a subject matter expert and an ELT who offered valuable input on how mathematics is applied in their respective environments. Through this educational and innovative website team members have been able to share with each other different learning styles, new visions, and new modes of life. Through mathematics all divergences and barriers crumble down to bring whole communities from all over the world close together.

Apart from team members who are from different countries more than 400 students from 13 countries took part in this project with much vehemence. Their massive contributions with their surveys, real stories, opinions, etc. stem from a strong belief that mathematics is the backbone of any progress and wealth in our every day life. Advances in maths can lead to advances in all domains.
