When I was first asked about working on this project I was very interested for several reasons. Firstly my Father, Mother and younger sister are all involved in the health field. Secondly, I love food and fitness. I grew up in a very health concious active family. We spent our weekends in the summer hiking on the mountains, swimming in the ocean, or sailing on the bay near our home. In winter we loved to ski and ice skate. Fall and Spring was always full of outdoor activities such as camping and more hiking and sailing.
I enjoy cooking healthy food and teaching my friends how to cook in a healthy way as well.. The way we eat, and keeping fit is both good for the mind and body. Even now as an adult I love fitness. I wake up every morning at 5am and swim 60 laps in the pool for 30 minutes. I always eat a healthy breakfast of oatmeal and fruit. I try to eat a healthy lunch every day and after work go to the gym for weight training or yoga. My dinner always consists of a big salad with some type of fish or chicken.
When teaching I always try in involve healthy living in my classroom activities which makes it both fun, informative and interesting for the students.
