Fat Genes?

Are there Fat genes? Genes are small units of information that live in your cells and are passed to you from your parents and gives your cells the information needed to make you, who you are.

Scientists have found several different genes that can make you obese. One gene is called FTO variant and if you carry two copies you are 70% more likely to be obese. If you carry only one copy your risk is less likely (30% risk) Today over two-thirds of Americans are overweight, and nearly one third are obese (see
what is obesity). If there is a fat gene it did not just appear recently. Last century very few people had diabetes now 7% of Americans have diabetes. Genetics might be the cause for an extremely small amount of obesity but a high calorie diet and no exercise is the main culprit.
