    Safe Drinking Water

Water is an important resource that all of us have to play a part in conserving. There are many ways that we can do our part to solve the problem of water pollution.

    As individuals we can:

    • Reduce the usage of water by turning off the tap while brushing your teeth or when soaping your body. In this way, water shortages can be prevented and there will be a lesser need to treat contaminated water for consumption.
    • Do not throw litter or harmful substances down sinks and toilets. Do your part by picking up litters near rivers, lakes or beaches and throw them into the nearest rubbish bin.
    • Do not use too much fertilizer or insecticide as they will contaminate water sources during surface runoff or when they seep into the soil.
    • Promote water conservation to friends, family and your colleagues!
    • Contact the appropriate authorities when you see water loss through water leakages and broken pipes.
