  • Lead Pollution

    We use lead in many areas of our life, and it is all around us. Lead is used in paint, batteries, drinking water, and pottery. Before leaded gasoline was banned, huge amounts of lead were emitted from the engine's exhaust pipes into the air that we are breathing. Children are most vulnerable to lead poisoning as they are unaware of the things around them, often placing lead containing substances into their mouths.

    Drinking water

    Drinking water from lead pipes and solder leads to many health problems for people who drink the contaminated water. It proved to be one of the major causes of lead poisoning resulting in the death of many in the early 1900s.
