Housing and health
We are constantly affected by the status of our environment, thus where our houses are built will be vital as it contributes to the amount of traffic and pollution. How houses are constructed and what materials are used will influence our environment and natural resources differently. Through the course of building, the public and labor force will be constantly exposed to the hazardous chemicals present.
In most communities, to facilitate the use of vehicles, many sidewalks are omitted to make way for roads. This has indirectly cause inactive behavior of people because of the reliance of these vehicles and the lack of sidewalks for people to walk or cycle, rejecting them of this valuable opportunity to be physically active. Due to such trend, obesity in adults and children have became a widespread problem.
Poverty gives rise to health problems due to the poor housing conditions where facilities are inadequate while the homes may be damp or soiled, facilitating the transmission of infectious diseases.
