Pollution

What is happening in the coral reefs? Pollution. Pollution is the main reason coral reefs are dying. To save the coral reefs we must not pollute.

These are the things that pollute our ocean and makes our coral die. The first source of pollution is the chemicals in the air. When the chemicals in the air goes into the oceans and kills the coral. Another source comes from littering. When you litter the trash goes into the oceans, it kills the fish and the coral. The next source of pollution is runoff. When it rains the mud from mountains goes into our oceans it covers the coral and makes it die because it can't take in oxygen. Lastly, the chemicals in our fertilizer go into our oceans and kills them.

How do I prevent pollution?

To prevent pollution you could not to ride your cars and ride your bike once in a while. Your cars will not pollute the air if you don't use them. Or you could have a clean up drive. You could pick up trash in your neighborhood. Also, RECYCLE!! If you recycle the trash doesn't go into our oceans. If you do this, the coral reefs will flourish and become the way they used to be.
