Cryptography has even given politics a helping hand, as we see in this section. The law had to intervene when terrorist activities seemed to be on an uproar owing to safer communication. This led to the framing of new laws on the export and usage of cryptographic products. Even the election process is being made speedier and more reliable thanks to cryptography. Electronic voting has started catching on in many countries.
And it’s not just text that can be enciphered anymore, pictures and music can be too! You can hide one picture in another or information in music… Security has reached new levels. But this too has its own share of consequences.
And finally, cryptography has also helped increase security for our air force officers protecting the skies. The IFF (Identification of friend or foe) system helps them identify an enemy aircraft and makes patrolling the skies a lot safer.
