Biography - Erika
Hi! My name is Erika, and I live and go to school in Derry, New Hampshire. However, I’m originally from Orlando, Florida, and I’ve moved back and forth between the two towns several times. I prefer to live in Florida, but I like to be close to my family, most of which lives here in the north. I like to play softball, and my favorite subjects in school are English and Spanish.
Like Mr. Poirier, my involvement in this team was rather unique. Unlike the other students who had been working on this site for months, I joined only a few weeks ago as the second translator. Before I started helping with the translations, I really didn’t know anything about cryptography. About five hours ago, I learned that as ‘Director of Data Management,’ my mother deals with the encrypting and decrypting of codes all day, and she even stole the computer from me in order to send one of her colleagues a new code. So that was probably one of the best things for me: learning about cryptography in general and learning how it applies to my mother’s profession.
One major difficulty that I faced during these past few weeks was procrastination and then a serious cold that didn’t motivate me at all. So here I am, at 1:15 in the morning, the day before the website is to be posted, finishing up the last bit of work and wondering how I managed to finish ten articles in nine hours.
