History of the Internet

"The Internet is a worldwide network of computers that allows users to send and receive information between them."
How did the internet get started?
In 1969 the American Government wanted a way to allow their military to share and exchange information between different sites. They set up a network of four supercomputers and defence workers started sending electronic message to each other over this network, they called these electronic messages or e-mail.
Over time more agencies connected to this network and it began to grow rapidly. By 1990 individuals started to connect to the Internet and so the internet that we all use today was born.
