What is the Digital Divide?
It is gap between people who have access to digital information and technology and those who do not access to anything of the sort.
What causes this divide?
The uneven diffusion of technology has caused digital divide within countries and between countries. Along with this, technologists have preferred not to work as hard at creating “solutions” for the lower class because of the assumption that the profit margin is not as high as if they where creating solutions for the upper economy bracket .The result is that even in cases where the lower class are provided with technology they do not reap the full benefits of it because the technology provided to them is of a low-quality or is harmful to them in some way or the other.
Who suffers as a consequence to this digital divide?
Developing countries and 3rd world countries suffer the consequences of this divide.
