Sound Pollution

Some of the negative consequences or urban development is the sound pollution. The sound is a vibration of particles in an environment capable of producing an auditory sensation. Even if sound propagates rapidly like elastic waves in all environments like air, liquids or solid matter, it is not propagated in vacuum. In air, its speed reaches 340m/s.
Noise is a complex combination of sounds that repeat non-periodically and affect the psychological state of humans and animals. Such acoustic toxins affect all human communities.
One should bear in mind the terrestrial and air means of transport and the building sites that release into atmosphere unbearable noises of many decibels. This is hard to cope with and few can temporarily get used to it. One may wonder again which are the effects in the long run upon our health. The answer is that the infra sounds made by helicopters, fast cars or supersonic aircrafts may seriously affect our power of concentration as well as our hearing. The infrasounds destroy the hemoglobins and cause migraines, nausea and loss of balance. Eventually the nervous system is the one that process the auditory sensation and affects others parts of the body.
The scientists are working on finding viable solutions to avoid the generation and transmission of noises. The cars and engines that will be built in the future must run on silent engines. The blocks of flats that will be erected will be equipped with a sound-absorbing layer. Another idea promoted by the ones interested in reducing this kind of pollution, would be surrounding the living areas with plantations of tress that would absorb noise and dust. Unfortunately, Romania does not have at present any regulations regarding the prevention of sound pollution.
