Endangered Species

Animals support life by serving as food for both man and plants. At the same time, they also destroy life by killing other animals or damaging crops and property. In this way, they help to keep in balance the total number of plants and animals on earth. This vital ecosystem is known as the 'web of life'.
- White rhinos or square lipped are very endangered because they are rare and people like to cut their horns off, they kill it first and then they take the horns.
- There is a group in South Africa known as the big five consisting of the lion, buffalo, elephant, rhino and leopard which are hunted because they are very rare.
- Frog (some frogs are used for medicine in some cultures. Some people eat frogs too.)
- Chimpanzee (are also one of the most endangered species.)
- The tiger population in India is moving towards extinction faster than we can say. Human interefernce of the natural habitat and poaching are the main causes for this.
- The Sumatran rhinoceros is smaller than other rhino and has two horns. Only about 150 remain, but even these are in serious danger from hunters.
