To plant a tree you need to know 4 things. They are: what, where, how and maintenance.
What: You need to know what kind of tree you are dealing with. Will it grow in your area? If you don’t know which kind of trees grow in your area, contact your local nursery or garden club. If you want it to provide shade, you should buy a tree with a wide spread of leaves.
Where: Choose a location for your tree where there will be enough room for the tree to grow. Make sure that there are no overhead wires. You need to know what kind of soil the tree grows in? If it is in a crowded space then select another area depending on the height of the tree. If it is very close to a road you should move it to another area.
How: Dig a hole in the area that you have chosen. Put your tree in the centre of the hole. Fill up the soil around the tree. Do not walk on the ground around the tree after you have planted it.
Maintenance: Water the tree properly. Don’t overwater your tree!
