Dengue in Malaysia

The earliest recorded case of dengue fever in Malaysia was described by Skae in 1902. The first major outbreak occurred in 1973 (Shekhar, 1992). Since then dengue has become a major public health problem in the country. The table and graph below show the number of reported dengue cases in Malaysia between 1995 and 2005.
