Cruel Fate
The night before
A heavy downpour
Water from the raging sky
Broke the silence of the lonely night
The day after
The bright sun appears
Fresh air surrounds
The grassland invites
Children to play games
Over the rough field
Pools of water standing still
Black dots floating on top
Waiting to develop…
White and black stripes
Over the body and legs
A buzzing little creature
Dancing in the air, resting as it desires
Biting the hand that feeds
Injecting venom that seeps
You choose not to kill
But the pain is real
Slowly taking a life away
Diminishing hopes day by day
Blame it on cruel fate
When it is treatment that is late
We want the pests to be rid
We don’t want to be sick
Let us join forces to fight the pest
By little acts yet the best
Allow not cans and tins to rest
So these pests can’t multiply
Stop the menace and save the ordeal
We Can Win the deal
