Greek Mythology

A Phoenix is a mythical bird, with a magnificent array of red and gold feathers. It is known to be immortal since it has the ability to heal its wounds whenever it’s injured. When this magnificent bird dies, it builds a nest of cinnamon twigs around itself and ignites itself, burning until both entities are reduced to ash. From the ash, another newborn Phoenix would then arise and this cycle would repeat itself forever. The Phoenix represents immortality, resurrection and fire. In laymen’s term, it is known as a sacred firebird. The Phoenix was used widely, being popular in Christianity, both in art and in symbolism. It symbolized Christ, representing his resurrection, immortality, and life-after-death.
