Esther
Hi, I’m Esther. I was mainly in-charge of churning out the content of technical aspects of fire, namely the section under fire dynamics consisting of the causes of fires, the development of fire, heat transfer, fire nature(different kinds of combustion) and environmental factors affecting fire. Technical huh? Well, I got this part because my father was a fire investigator and is currently working with the civil service fire department so it was both my convenience and most importantly, my interest in this aspect of fire.
Other then the content, I am also interested in computing, which was mainly sparked off from my addiction to computer games in my younger days. This website was practically an assignment, and studying computing for less then 5 months then suddenly having such a daunting project thrown onto our laps, I must say that this pressure has enabled my group and I to push ourselves to out limits. Both mentally and emotionally by learning how to be proficient in the technical aspects and how to deal with the stress.
Despite being in the same school and same level, this project was able to bond us even closer together. It was a great lesson on time management, meeting deadlines and most of all, teamwork.
Specialization was the way to go for this project as each of us specialized in our own arena, with Geraldine doing the CSS and graphics, guoxiang doing javascript, Shitong and Kenneth doing more content, everyone saw their responsibility and importance in this project. Each of us encouraged each other through the sleepless nights and loads of work to complete on time. We learned as we helped each other in their problems and staying back in school after lessons as a group also helped us to keep up with each other’s progress apart from having more bonding time.
I would like to thank my coaches, Ms Feng and Mr Gi for guiding us through this really tough and difficult journey. The scolding, pressure and ever helpful tips that you all provided were ever so essential in helping us to integrate our website into what it is today.
Thank you for visiting this site and hope you have a good time on top of acquiring knowledge about the ever so elusive entity—fire.
