Obesity,
America
VS.
Different Countries
Do you know that we
are killing years off of our children's lives by
wrong food choices. Do you really see what your kids are eating at
school? Schools are held for some of the problem of childhood obesity.
American schools and different countries schools are feeding unhealthy
food to the students when they buy lunch. The United States is the
fattest nation in the world. Sixty-five percent of the population is
either obese or overweight. Obesity is when you consume more food
calories than your body can burn. Resulting in weight gain. It's not
only schools though it is you too.
Childhood obesity
has a lot to do with your food
choices. People are also buying junk food because it might be at a more
reasonable price than the healthy foods. Parents are taking their kids
more often to restaurants where you are eating foods high in fat grams,
sodium, and calories. America is not the only problem with childhood
obesity but, we do have the most.
In different
countries people and government are
trying to put a stop to childhood obesity. Do you know that junk food
is classified as any processed food? All across Europe, people are
donating money to obesity cares. Also the governments are putting T.V
junk food bans in some of the countries also more health messages on
the T.V. All junk food ads in France has to devote 7% of their space to
health messages and a balanced lifestyle. There was a British junk food
ad ban during the summer. No one could advertise junk food on the
T.V. Hopefully different countries can stop childhood
obesity.
People need to get
the right amount of exercise and
nutrition to stay healthy and not become obese, especially children.
Lack of exercise plays a major role in childhood obesity. Even some
experts are saying that it might be the leading cause in childhood
obesity. A lot of kids are just sitting around all day with a bag of
chips watching T.V and you can guess that this is wrong.
Do you know what
obesity can cause? It causes heart
attack, cancer, arthritis, stroke, pregnancy problems, gallbladder
disease, high blood pressure, and the deathly one type 2 diabetes! A
scary thing is that obesity is becoming the second largest preventable
cause of death in America according to two academic studies. We need to
stop childhood obesity or we will pay with deaths. So do something
people!
