Type 2 Diabetes in
Obese Children
In hospitals
everywhere boys and girls
who are chubby to hugely obese,
are being diagnosed with type two diabetes. Some children as young as
six. This
disease used to be called adult onset diabetes because it rarely
occurred before the middle age. Most all diabetes in children is type
one. When getting type two diabetes victims stop making insulin
completely so they won't convert sugar to energy. Doctors blame
inactivity and over eating, also children are drinking 20-ounce sodas
in
schools. Most kids with type two diabetes are overweight. Kids
with diabetes are usually big and tall for their age and huge all over
. Their parents are big too. Doctors estimate for every child with type
two four or five others have metabolic syndrome, a combination of high
blood pressure, bad cholesterol counts and insulin resistance. Also
when becoming obese finding comfort in food can be an effect. The
Diabetes Association recommends having children tested for type two
diabetes if they are overweight or have a parent with the disease.
Watch out! Obesity can have a big effect on your life.
