X-mas customs

Christmas is the first celebration, in 25th of December, when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. In this day we usually meet in the night and go knocking from house to house to known or unknown persons and sing carols.The next day all the people go to the church.

New year  is celebrate with joy by us, especially because we all get in a place and party together. It's said that if in the middle of the night between the years you kiss someone under the mistletoe you'll stay with him for ever. In the first day of the new year it's also said that a man had to cross your threshold for good luck. Childs are often going with the star, meaning you go to people houses wishing him good luck in the new year.

"Boboteaza" is more an important religious celebration, meaning "the baptism of Jesus", celebrate on 6th January. In this day people go to church, pray and on the end the priest gives you holy water. It's said that is good to drink there "3 draughts" of holy water to help you in the new year.
