Malaysia

In Malaysia the national government provides healthcare through the ministry of health. This is a universal system and runs alongside a private healthcare system. 5% of the annual budget is put into public healthcare and the system meets the needs of emergency disease and national political requirements

Statistics

The infant mortality rate in 2005 was 10 which is comparable to many of the worlds richest countries. The life Expectancy is 74 years, which also is above average for the region. The death rate is 5.05/per 1000 people. 52,000 people in Malaysia are estimated to be living with HIV/AIDS.
