In Cuba, healthcare is operated by the government which takes full responsibility for it's citizens. No private clinics or hospitals are allowed. Cuba has a very low mortality rate as well as illness rate as most people are vaccinated againt these. the country has developed a health system that stops mental illnesses and emphasises community care. There are three organisations that deal with mental illness, the Committee for the Defense of the Revolution which aims to protect the revolution; the policlinics which provide health services to areas containing 25,000 to 40,000 people and the psychiatric hospitals.
