The tiger is a solitary animal that kills by ambushing. It can kill prey up to four times its own weight! This cat loves water! It will even chase its prey into the water. These animals are carnivores, meaning they eat meat. They live in jungle like regions of southern Asia. Today, there are 3,000 to 5,000 tigers left in the wild. Fortunately, the populations are growing. Fun Fact!- White tigers are not a separate species from the orange colored tigers, they are just a generic mutation. Tigers walk backwards into the water to watch its surroundings to make sure there are not any predators around. They weigh between 350 to 600 pounds. They are 6.3 to 7.3 feet, and 36 to 38 inches tall. They canlive up to 26 year in the wild.
