The Ostrich is flightless.  It is the biggest bird in the world at 7 to 9 feet in height.  It weighs 220 to 350 pounds.  It has a brown body, white underside, and a featherless neck.  DID YOU KNOW?  The Ostrich has the largest eye of any land animal.  It has a diameter of two inches.  They live in herds of about 12.  In the wild, they live 30 to 40 years old.  When they see a predator, they stick their wings in the air as a defense.  When they sleep, they stick their heads in holes in the ground.
