Mt. Rushmore


Mt. Rushmore is located the in the Blackhills of South Dakota, carved on the southern side of the mountain. Four American presidents are remembered; George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. The carving of the four faces began in 1927 and ended in 1941. The National Memorial was formed in 1966, providing tours and a short film that tells the story of the famous mountain.

 

Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is a National Park of the United States of America. The Canyon was formed by the Colorado River eroding the land. The Grand Canyon is 277 miles (446 km) long and is 4 to 18 miles wide (6.4 to 29 km).

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is a natural feature of both northern America and southern Canada. There are four bridges that remain from thirteen that were constructed across the Niagara River Gorge. Tourism to the Falls began in the 1820s and continues to this day.

     

Statue Of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty was given to the United States by France as a gift of friendship on October 28, 1886. It is located on the New Jersey Harbor, but is owned by New York. The Statue of Liberty is also known as "Lady Liberty", symbolizing freedom and liberty. The statue welcomed all incoming immigrants, with the statue being the first thing they see. The U.S gave France a smaller version of the same statue. Today Liberty Island and the monument are open to visitors from all around the world.
