Daily Life In Bhopal

The daily lives in Bhopal for most women, is to do the cooking, cleaning, and preparation of food.  Other, more privileged women and children get clean water for things such as bathing, cleaning, and drinking. The men on the other hand go to work.  Jobs vary from selling merchandise, doing labor that needs physical strength or white collar jobs that require a college degree.  Of course, some poorer women and children there are forced to eke a living by begging for money.

In contrast, the gas victims go through much more than that. Many of them actively campaign for rights, clean water, recognition, and much more.  Many of these people require medical help, so much of their available time is spent trying to apply for free medicine, or get treatment at a hospital for either themselves, or for other family members.

A lot of their time, for those who cannot afford the hospital bills is spent taking care of relatives and their sick family, as the sick require a lot of attention, as most gas victims are very prone to sicknesses.

Most gas victim children cannot go to school, due to lack of  funds.  These children find other ways to fill their time,  gambling and playing cards amongst one another. This starts them off with bad habits, and can prove harmful later in life.

"Happiness is

the only sanction of life; where happiness fails, existence remains a mad and lamentable experience."
