Pandora’s
Box is an ancient story known to many believers; her story is based on our
problems today, for example: diseases, monsters and more. One
day Prometheus, know as a thief, had stolen many goods, and things that were
very valued to the Greeks, but he had stolen The Box of Fires and gave it to the
human race. Whatever
happened to us was not good, so to prevent any further thieveries Zeus, the god
of the sky, went to Hephaestus, the finest craftsman, and demanded to make a
protector of precious values. So
Hephaestus made a woman of clay named Pandora, Zeus then breathed life into the
figure. Pandora arose and soon became Prometheus’s wife. Once
she had settled in with Prometheus, her curiosity of the box had the best of her
so she dug a deep hole and buried her box in the hole. The
next day Pandora thought she was going to spontaneously combust of guilt and
curiosity, so she dug up the beautiful wonder, before she opened the box she
took a deep sigh, slowly the box began to open. It wasn’t what she had
expected, instead horrible wonders came out of the box nothing as she had
imagined. Things
like diseases and monsters nothing more horrible.
She quickly closed the box before anything worst happened, but all that
was in that was left in the box was hope… King Midas was the richest king on the land, he always
checked on his gold everyday, not a minute passed when he didn’t think of his
money. Never ever could he get enough, The God Apollo was cursed
by The king for giving gold to
mortals, Midas was not happy after that incident. Midas appeared in Apollo’s dreams and instead of being
mad at Midas He granted him a wish… Apollo knew he should trust his dreams, so the next day he
talked to the king , and said: I have decided to grant you a wish. The king was excited, he wished that everything he touched
turned to gold, his wish was granted to his pleasing, so he fro locked along
touching everything to gold: Roses, trees, bushes and more. If that is what you
wish…said Apollo, and vanished. He no sooner went into the castle to see his lovely
daughter running toward him, as soon as he touched her she was pure gold, the
king was crying in sorrow yelling to Apollo I want my daughter back and I no
longer wish to carry this burden, Apollo appeared in mid-air. Very well said Apollo have you learned you lesson? Yes he said through tears, I am sorry. Yes I can see, GO, you are free. Thank you Apollo, thank you, and he ran off without a word. Even though The king missed his power he was very grateful
for his lesson, he gave all the humans gold from his castle, and everything had
changed. Arachne, a gloating proud girl, was the one of the best
weavers, and she weaved for all the gods and goddesses. One day a nymph asked Arachne if she got her gift from
Athena, it was a spool of thread, and Athena, who had been the teacher of
Arachne, was very wise. Athena to was a weaver, but Arachne just threw her head
back and laughed then said Athena had taught her nothing
and then said to the nymph I bet I can win a contest competing with
Athena, and I will win The nymphs were shocked to hear such news, but excited
nonetheless. The next day Athena had heard the news that had gone fast,
she was infuriated, so she decided to disguise herself and go to Arachne’s
cottage. Athena then knocked on the door to be greeted unusually by
Arachne. You, Arachne, should watch your words Athena had said,
Athena is not pleased. Why do I care she can complain all she wants I would beat
her easily. Athena came out of her disguise and said okay. Arachne was
ashamed of herself for being such a brat. They started the competition. Athena wove all 12 gods, but Arachne wove not only the 12
gods but also their adventures, all the nymphs agreed that Arachne had won when
they had finished, she was pleased as always. Athena was angered at losing, how dare she loose so she
used her magic to turn Arachne into a wicked spider. She had slowly grown six
legs and a small head with a black body. Arachne was a slave spider she wove the most beautiful
weavings in the land. The Minotaur has the head of a man and the body of a
ferocious bull, no one had ever dared challenging the beast because legend has
it that no Minotaur can be killed with a spear, club, knife or sword. Everyday a person would die, king Minos was not happy about
all of his civilization dieing by such a beast so he ordered Hephaestus to build
a kind of labyrinth to restrain the monster of killings. Hephaestus did what he was told, grateful for an order by
the king himself. The labyrinth had thousands of doors going to doors in some
deranged path, and every nine years seven girls and seven boys would go in there
and feed the Minotaur, but once in there they could never find their way out so
they would die either way and all that would be left was their skeletons. |
