What We Can Do
Children in Africa

What can we do?
The information about the children in Africa came from the CAFOD website. On that website are lots of ideas that schools can use to raise money to help those children less fortunate.

We are going to tell you some of the ideas that we have come up with, and ideas that we know about.

Some charities let you buy gifts for friends that help other people. Our teacher was bought a set of text books for a school in Africa by someone in her class. We thought that was a really good idea! We have loads of book and computers, they have very little. Why not buy somebody a gift like that?

Some schools are linked with other, poorer schools and send money and books they no longer need to help them. Could your school do that?
At the moment we are having a sponsored “fill the matchbox”, where we put as many different things into a matchbox as possible. It’s great fun!
Here are some more ideas

  • Cake sale
  • Jumble sale
  • Toy sale
  • Line of pennies
  • Cover a world map with pennies
  • Different sponsored events – eg sponsored silence, read, exercise

Anything that we can do will make a difference. After all, just because someone is born in a country which is poor does not mean that they deserve any less than we do.

LET’S HELP!
