The triad of impairments

di tren dg thang.jpgThe difficulties that autistic people all have to encounter can be divided in to three main areas: social communication, social interaction, and social imagination (the triad of impairments). Thus, for people with autism, interacting with others and taking part in social life are much harder. The awareness for autism, however, is often hard to be raised as autistic people do not look 'disabled'. Some may say that the children with autism are merely 'naughty' or 'misunderstood'. If parents or caregivers note any sign of the triad of impairments in their child, they should request a diagnosis as soon as possible.
