INTRODUCTION:

Mountains are the very high raised portion of the land these are mostly covered by the snow throughout the year.In India the Himalayan range of mountains is spread from Jammu& Kashmir in the west to Arunachal Pradesh in the East.Himalayan range covers the entire northern part of India, nestling five major states of the country within it.

The Himalayas consist of three parallel ranges:

1.The Himadri

2.The Himachal

3.The Shiwaliks
