Texas Tech Women's Basketball History

The Texas Tech Athletic Hall of Honor  was made in 1961 to recognize a group of people that have had a special impact on Texas Tech athletics. A former athlete isn't eligible until 10 years after their class graduated. They must not have only contributed greatly to the program but also have displayed qualification such as sportsmanship, character, and integrity. Inductees are awarded at the annual hall of honor Banquet the Friday night before the Texas or Texas A & M home game. Some of the females that have been awarded this honor include Sheryl Swoopes (2004) and Carolyn Thompson (1997)  for their contribution to Lady Raider Basketball.

One of the greatest memories for the Lady Raider Basketball Program and Texas Tech was in 1993, when the Lady Raiders won the Southwest Conference Post Basketball Tournament and the NCAA Championship.
