 A balanced diet must contain carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins, mineral salts and fibre. It must contain these things in the correct proportions.
Healthy diet is a balanced diet which includes a wide variety of foods taken from the four main food groups: bread, other cereals and potatoes; fruit and vegetables; meat, fish and alternatives; milk and dairy foods.
Sugars and fats are also an integral part of a balanced diet, but are needed in very small amounts.

 

 
Choose the whole-grain food such as whole-wheat bread, oatmeal, brown rice , low fat popcorn , more often. Go dark green and orange with your vegetables –eat broccoli, spinach, carrot and sweet potatoes.

Carbohydrates : These provide a source of energy. whole-grain cereals, brown rice, whole-grain breads and muffins, fruits, vegetables.

Proteins: These provide a source of materials for growth and repair. low-fat or nonfat dairy products, lean meats, eggs, nuts (including nut butters), seeds, and cooked dried beans

Fats: These provide a source of energy and contain fat soluble vitamins. Ghee, butter and oils.

Vitamins: These are required in very small quantities to keep you healthy. Fruits and vegetables.

Mineral Salts: These are required for healthy teeth, bones, muscles etc.

Fibre: This is required to help your intestines function correctly; it is not digested whole-grain breads, waffles, and cereals; brown rice, bran, and other grains; fruits, vegetables, beans, and nuts
