The fortress is situate on the Cetatuia Hill, in the left bank of Gradiste River.
The hill, with the citadel on the top, makes an important place of watch, with views till the entrance in the mountain.
The fortification system of the fortress is done from three different things: earth wave,a wall of stone 3 meters bulk and another earth wave. On the top, there were 2 house towers built from stone blocks where you could arrive ascending a stair. Near by there were 2 sanctuaries and tanks with water.
The time that this were built was in the period from Burebista to Decebal. Finally the fortress was destroyed in the second roman war when Trajan tried to conquer the Dacia. After that, the citadel was never new-built.
