Introduction

Many people in today's world, especially in the Western World, have cell phones, home phones, T.V.'s (and these can be 50 inch high definition plasma T.V.'s that can cost $2,000 or more) computers and laptops. Many who read this will be able to relate to this and are lucky if they receive this luxury of a fine life. However, there is another extreme and that is the families who couldn't afford any of the things we listed because they live in poverty. Some families go days without food, they don't have enough money for clean water, to go to the hospital when they are sick, or go to school because they can't supply themselves with basic things like pencils and paper. The reason that they cannot afford anything is because they live in severe poverty. The following website will be on the poverty in Hong Kong. As people read this, we want to make sure that they know that Hong Kong is not the only place that has poverty. Almost everywhere in the world, there is some sort of poverty, the difference between countries and their poverty is the severity of poverty.
