Soccer Rules

Soccer is played all around the world. There are over 70 soccer rules. The official soccer rules are called the "Laws of the Game" and are revised annually by FIFA, the world soccer governing body, but youth organizations usually adjust the rules to fit children. Typical adjustments are field sizes, game lengths, number of players per team, the number and frequency of substitutions, "offside" is sometimes not called, and slide tackling is sometimes not allowed. Field sizes, ball sizes, length of games & rules vary by age group. The FIFA rules do not require separate teams for girls and boys, but many soccer clubs and associations have separate leagues for boys and girls. There are also fouls in the game of soccer. There are two types of fouls, direct, and indirect.

If a direct foul occurs, the other team receives a "direct free kick" which means a goal can be scored by kicking the ball straight into the goal or a "penalty kick.kicking or attempting to kick an opponent. Accidentally kicking an opponent while tackling the ball is not a foul unless there was carelessness, recklessness, or exessive force.Another way to get a diredt foul is if you trip or attempt to trip an opponent.Pretty much anything that might hurt the other player is a direct foul. Next there are indirect fouls.When this type of foul occurs, the other team receives an "indirect free kick" which means a goal only counts if another player touches the ball before it enters the goal. Most indirect kick fouls only apply to the goalkeeper and only if committed inside the penalty box. The goalkeeper is treated like a regular field player when he is outside the penalty box.

There are to be ten players on the field at one time plus the goalkeeperof each team. That means that each team wil have six players on the field at a time(including the goalie).There are two halves to a game.Each of the halves is fourty five minutes long. There are boundries that surround the teh soccer field. If the ball goes out of those boundaries, then the ball must be thrown in by the opposite eam that last touched the ball before it went out of the boundaries. A goal occurs when the ball passes the goal area. The goalies job is to stop the ball from going into the goal.There are different ways that a goal can be made. The goal can be made from actiuon9when a player kickes the ball and it goes past the goalkeeper. Another way to make a goal is to make it from a penalty shot. A penalty shot occurs when a defending player fouls or commits a hand ball(when the ball is touched by the hand) inside of the eighteen yard box.

Another way to make a goal is with a corner kick. A corner kick occurs when the ball passes the goal line and goes outside of the boundaries. The ball is then kicked form that sides corner. There are diffent ways to get a foul. But there is a difference between a misconduct and a foul. A foul is when you accidently do something that you are not supposed to do to another player. A misconduct is when you acctually target an opponent. Depending on the seriousness of the foul, you can be penalizeswith either a red card, or a yellow card. If you get two yellow, you are out of the game. These are given to the players who commit not as serious of a foul. But if you get one red card, you are out of the game. A red card is given to a player who starts a fight, or stars to throw punches at someone.
