We decided to start our research locally. Our aim was to inform and mobilize our fellow classmates as well as the community about forest fires. Global research shows that the majority of forest fires are due to human involvement and hence fire prevention should be taught to every citizen.
To start off with, we took a survey at our school to discover how informed our fellow classmates are on the topic of forest fires and their consequences. We interviewed the chief of the fire department and with the information collected we compared the answers of our classmates. We asked at the city hall how the school and the municipality can help in reversing the damage caused by the fire. As a result our webpage includes all our findings that we gathered and also all the information that we could find on the World Wide Web.
We hope that other schools will see our example and continue our efforts in sensitizing others to forest fires.
