Preparations

      From the idea to the realization there is a tough way. Whan we decided to create our website it was obvious that we had to do something to show our visitors, that we didn't only encourage them to act but we did something useful, too. We wanted to set an example. Preperations are always the most stressful and labour-consuming. First of all, we needed to decide on the topic of our contest and a form of presentation. There ware some argumments, but happens when a group of people would like to plan a joint venture. We decided that competitiors' task would be creating a computer presentation, where they ought to show the preplanned action aimed to protect the local environment.

      Than we had to write the detailed regulations of the contest. There was information about our purpose and a message of the project. It contained detailed description of the task and competitors. There was one month to make the presentation. After that, we created a website of "ThinkEco 2007" to inform students from junior high schools about the rules, a deadline and the prizes. What is closely linked, our team had to find sponsors and protectors. Our coach MSc. Daszyk helped us to write special official documents. It turned out, that our local authorities and the institutions were willing to support our idea.We obtained necessary funds thanks to the District of Chrzanow, the Forest Inspectorate in Chrzanow, Trzebinia Refinery and our school. The final stage of the preparations was sending posts, leaflets and, of course, invitations in order to encourage people to take part in the competition. These ads were projected by the main designer in our team - Peter.

Final of contest

      We and our coach chose the best 10 teams from all the participants. On 29th November 2007 we organized an appointment with all the finalists in our school. During this meeting each team presented their presentations about the environmental protection in the local area. After that the jury, which consisted of the District of Chrzanow and the Forest Inspectorate representatives the headmaster of our school, MSc. Daszyk and Peter, went on the debate. They assessed the innovatory of the projects, precision, usefulness of the action, originality, the competence of the project and the technical side. During the jury's debate all teams were talking about the ring road in Chrzanow. Mary discussed with the participants advantages and disadvantages of the bypass and the use of renewable soursess of enegy in the local area.
The jury awarded three presentations. First of them described a method of keeping our local forests clean, the second showed the ecological centrum - Thinkeco, the third presented the environmentally friendly house. The winners received interesting awards (mp3 players, keyboards, mouses or pendrives) thanks to our sponsors.
