Just like people are different in every nation, so too are their fashion preferences. Different ideals and purposes lead to different needs when it comes to clothing. In this section you’ll learn about the general trends from three continents: Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Europe: European fashion is very similar to American fashion in many ways. In fact the two nations borrow from each other all the time. The main idea for European fashion is classiness. The European look will almost always include some kind of boot, scarf, or jacket. Grays and neutrals are common with splashes of color here or there, found in a shirt or cleverly placed bracelet. Whether you’re in Germany, France, or the UK, no citizen would dare be seen without looking at least somewhat business-oriented.

Africa: If you take a trip to Africa you will see nothing but comfort. Clothes are loose and hang freely. Many clothes that come from African inspirations involve wraps of cloth that come together to make a skirt with nothing but a knot. Plain colors are rather boring and African fashion designers know this. They incorporate many different patterns and a wide spectrum of colors into their wears. These patterns may be inspired from local animals, such as zebra prints, giving them a very exotic look to outsiders.

Asia: For the most part Asia holds the record on having the craziest, most “in-your-face” fashion styles. If you’ve ever seen an anime cartoon, the clothes are kind of like that, but a little less extreme. Colors are bold and ecstatic. Often they are combined with other bright colors that other fashions would never think to put together. Bright combos of pinks and yellows or similar intense colors are common. Unlike Europeans, Asians use the opposite color scheme. Instead of large patches of neutrals with accents of color, it is more often seen that a large colorful outfit will be made subtler by a few pieces of neutrals. However, to counteract the subtlety they find ways to throw in a bow or hat that will bring it back to the wildness we all want.
