Introduction

Welcome to 'Epidemics of the Centuries', this is an educational website based on the teaching about the diseases Smallpox, the Bubonic Plague, and the Yellow Fever.  On this website we have listed the histories of these diseases, any biological warfare that occurred using these diseases, and possible cures or remedies ( home-made or otherwise ).

                What Causes These Hostile Diseases?

Smallpox- Smallpox may be transmitted through long periods of contact with another victim, or by contact with bodily fluid or other objects ( sheets, clothes, etc.  ) ( this disease is surprisingly viral, due to the fact that you can both breath this disease in and be infected by it through touch.  )

Bubonic Plague- Bubonic Plague is developed in fleas of which bite rats that can then spread this "disease" among the human, rat, and flea population alike.   ( note: this disease is non-viral,  hence it is not spread by air, infection occurs from direct contact.  )

Yellow Fever- Yellow Fever is caused by the bite of a mosquito of the Aedes species, Haemagogus genus, or Sasbethes genera that has infected saliva.   ( note:  this disease is viral, meaning that this disease can be spread by air and contact between others.)
