Language

The four major Scandinavian languages are Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, and Icelandic. In Sweden, Swedish is the official and most used language. Because of immigration, many languages are now spoken in Sweden. Swedsih schools teach several languages also. English is taught as a required second language.

Food

Traditional Swedish food is simple and healthy. Unfortunately due to foreign influence the youth now like fast food. Immigrants have also introduced food variety in Sweden.

Music

Between 40 and 60 percent of the Swedish population goes to a concert, theater or cinema at least once a year. Many school children play some type of instrument. The cultural policy supports a wide variety of artistic creativity. The government supports musical activities through the National Concert Institute.
