Time
-Holidays run on Jewish time they start at sunset the first day and end at sunset the last day. Israel has 5 1/2 to 6 day work week. Work begins Sunday and ends Friday at about 2p.m. No buses run on Shabbat either (the Sabbath).

Holiday Traditions-
Yom Kippur a day to say sorry for all the sins you've made. No television and nobody drives.
Sukkot build a sukka to live in until this holiday is over.
Hannukah festival of lights, remember miracle, eat latkas and things made with oil and light candles. (In Israel the children do not receive presents. 
Purim make and eat hamantashan, read the Book of Esther.
Passover have a seder (seder means order), read the passover story, you can't eat yeast for eight days.
Holocaust Remembrance Day the name tells all.
Israeli Remembrance Day two sirens run at 11a.m. and drivers pull over.
Israel Independence Day huge celebrations.
