Portable gaming started as a way to have gamers bring the games they love with them where ever they go.
The original portable games featured only one game and offered crude graphics and had a background that couldn’t change. With the advancement of technology some companies were able to offer systems that ran on game cartridges.
Nintendo devolped the Gameboy in 1989. The system ran on four AA batteries and sold for $100. The system displayed simple black and white graphics and became a huge success. The systems success was due to the large library of video games and a long battery life (Miller, 3).
Other systems were devolped that were technically more advanced than the Gameboy but however suffered from a short battery life and a poor library of games
