All of these from special interest for the tourists and spectators from the zoo. Besides the immense quantity of animals, the welcoming environment that the visitors receive, and the many events the zoo organizes for them is what brings so many tourists to this magical place. The zoo itself is a symbol of presence; it is always clean, which helps to admire its modern-spacious areas, each of them with a specific purpose. One example of these areas with such presence is the children zoo connection. “The Pritzker Family Children Zoo will delight the little ones” (Ermengem 1).  This small extension of the whole zoo was designed for children to learn in a more playful way about environmental themes, conservation, and safety tips. conservation, and safety tips.

There is also a Farm-In-the-Zoo area, where children can interact with the environment and animals. They can milk the cows, taste bee honey, chum butter, and learn about how are connected to humans and the importance of such relationships (Ermengem 2). The zoo has created other programs for visitors as well. These vary on their ages and certain accommodations during the year but most of them free. According to the president of Lincoln Park Zoo, it is a “Zoo in Motion”, because of the changes and advances it experiences each year. The zoo’s efforts in conservation and science have not only benefited the zoo itself but also extended to other areas. The zoo’s research has had a significant influence over scientific investigations such as discovering ways to combat the influenza. The personal of Lincoln Park Zoo found vital information and more meaningful observations about influenza; they designed a plan to combat it.

The agreement made between the president of the zoo (Kevin J., Bell) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, about the continuation of the investigation,  not only brought more fame and economic stability to the zoo, but also a recognition for their efforts toward preserving genetic diversity and animal life.

This treaty made the most important figures of the Agricultural Department to see and admire the continuous efforts on critical matters and extend their support. They also witnessed the creation of the “Green Team”, which helps the environment in the zoo.

What is so special about this group project is that the members installed energy saving products such as green roofs, recycling bins, organic gardens, and a friendly infrastructure that help the environment not only in the zoo but around the Lincoln Park Area (surrounding community). These exemplary actions not only educated and surprised those members from the Agricultural Department, but the visitors that go to this place. They assist without imagining what they will learn over there besides having fun watching the incredible animals, ignoring the zoo’s efforts on critical matters and their solution. But as soon as they get in contact either with the personal or the programs offered, they find out about it and educate themselves about these topics.

Their efforts were valued by the United States Department of Agriculture, which targeted them a millionaire grant to continue their research and help them with this important matter-solution. This recognition not only benefited the zoo’s reputation but it also helped the zoo to establish a more important role toward helping the society living around it.

The entertainment in Chicago is the one of its most unique qualities. There are many great museums, concert halls, theaters, and parks in this city; most of them are open to the public throughout the year, some of them are gratuitous because of the quantity of visitants they receive per day (Vcarious 2). “Lincoln Park Zoo is a particularly popular destination; it is part of the public park and therefore there is no fee” (Ink 2). Lincoln Park Zoo is the oldest gratuitous-public zoo that exists in the country, since its opening in 1868 (Ermengem 1). What is so special about this zoo is its array of animals and living diversity. The zoo is home to approximately eighty species of mammals, seventy reptiles species (adding up to more than 2,300 reptiles), and seventy-five bird species (about 300 total).
